Choosing a contractor to come into your home to install an HVAC system is much more complex than, say... buying a new refrigerator. Sure, you want to research the available model's price, quality and options. But once you have it delivered and plugged in, all that's left to do is fill it with food. Having contractors come into your living area and cut holes in your ceilings and floors can be a little more unsettling. This process requires a certain amount of confidence and trust that the job will be done professionally and with consideration for your personal property and space. We take pride in our ability to provide that confidence while installing a system our customers can rely on for years to come.

A Few FAQ's About How To Begin The Process Of Hiring An HVAC Contractor
Many consumers prefer to work with a local, well established company. Having the ability to speak directly with the owner, prior to signing a contract and after your installation is complete, can have its benefits. Businesses that cater to a smaller geographical area need to rely on their reputation to continue to survive.
Unfortunately, there are no guaranties that a contractor will live up to your particular expectations. However, reading reviews from home owners who have done business with a potential contractor can be very telling. Checking a company’s Better Business Bureau rating is a good place to start. Bad news travels fast. If a customer feels that their contractor did not deliver the quality and professionalism as promised, they are much more likely to submit a negative review, than a satisfied customer will submit a positive one.
There are a lot of HVAC equipment manufacturers and levels of quality on the market today. It is your contractor’s job to ask you the appropriate questions to determine your goals. He should learn how to prioritize which aspects of the project are most important to you and your budget. Is high quality more important than price? Where do high efficiency and environmentally friendly systems fit in. Once he has a feel for what you’re looking to accomplish, only then can he present a few options. On many installations, choosing a more efficient system will result in a lower “out of pocket” expense than a less efficient system, once the rebates and/or tax credits are applied.
There are several licenses involved to install a central a/c system in Massachusetts. In addition to the required CPA certificate, Sheet Metal Workers license and Electrician license, it is preferable that your contractor be NATE (North American Technician Excellence) Certified. Mass law also requires that the contractor be fully insured and that their technicians are covered by Workers Comp Insurance. Illegally installed systems run the risk of fines and possibility of an insurance claim being denied, should a loss or an accident occur.
